Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you cover? We welcome bookings in South London, Sussex, Surrey, Kent  Hampshire & the Isle of Wight. We travel a radius of 50 miles from our base in West Sussex and charge 30 pence per miles thereafter.

How much does it cost to hire the Box Bar?   Our booking fee is £195 for the day.

Can we include some specific drinks on the bar menu?   Certainly, we will always discuss with you what you preferences and the menu can be completely bespoke to your event. If you're not so sure about what makes a good menu then we are always happy to advise.

Are you insured? Yes we are fully insured with comprehensive public and employees liability insurance and are able to provide evidence of this cover on request.

What time can the Box Bar be booked to? This all depends on what the licence stipulates.  If the venue has it's own licence then this will likely state the time that the event will need to finish and we would work back from here with the timer the bar would need to finish. If we are applying for a Temporary Events Notice then we will discuss with you first what your preferred timings are.

What drinks can you provide? We can provide a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Depending on the type of event and our clients' preferences we often supply a wide range of spirits, including gins, gin liqueurs, rum, vodkas) prosecco, wine, draft and bottled beers, soft drinks and waters. 

What sort of glasses and bar ware do you use? This depends very much on the event. For some weddings, where our clients request this we provide glassware. For other events we like to use reusable products in order to limit our waste. We use paper straws and eco-friendly stirrers.

Do we need to get a licence for the event? It depends on the event. The venue may have a licence already, but if not then we would apply for a Temporary Event Licence on your behalf. The cost for this is around £21 and that would be additional to the bar hire cost.

How do I make a booking? If you are keen to find out more then contact us, we will be very happy to hear from you and will be able to answer all the questions you might have. Next we would look at your dates and if available you can secure the Box Bar with a £195 booking fee.

Can I see the bar before I hire it?   Yes the bar is often out and about at public events such as wedding fairs. We would welcome you to come along and see it and meet us before making your booking. 

I have  a colour scheme  planned for my  event,  can you work to these colours? Yes, of course, we would be only too happy to work with you to ensure the Box Bar is in line with your event colours and styling.

Do you accept cash and cards? Yes we accept cash and all credit and debit cards.

What services do you need to be able to run the bar? We have our own power supply but would like to have access to a water supply, although this isn't absolutely necessary. 

What size pitch does the Bar require? The Box Bar dimensions are 3.5m x 1.7m. The more space we have around us the better. That said we could manage in a pitch width of around 5 metres. With the back doors open to provide another length of bar area then a pitch width of 6 metres would be ideal.
